3.        Rules of play

The tournament will be played according to the rules of the WCF and the rules published in the tournament invitations.

4.        Modus

2 Leagues play 4 games each (8 ends, no extra end) within the leagues. Scoring is by system “Schenkel”. No team playing another more then once (top down adjustment), finals excepted.

The top 8 teams per league qualify for the final round.

5.        Schedule

See bottom of this document.

6.        Time

Each game will be 1hr 50 mins – 8 ends or the bell (after 1 hr 40 mins), no extra end. – The schedule is set on this.

Skips and teams shouldn’t discuss too long.

The Games master is authorized in case of need to state to the discussing team a 30 seconds warning. A stone not played within this time will be removed from the end and the opponent team plays his next stone.

7.        Toss

The hammer in each game will be tossed.

8.        Ranking

Ranking is made as follows:

-            2 points for a win, 1 for a tie; points, ends, shots scored and – if equal on this base – first the direct result (win/loss), then shots up in the direct games, then in all games shall give the exact rank.

-            In case of qualification for the finals, if there is still a tie, a “penalty shot” will be played.

-            In all other cases, tied teams will be ranked “ex aequo”.

9.        Penalty shot

Every team concerned plays 1 shot to the button, with skip and sweepers. The distance to the button will be measured, written down by the officials, and the shot removed. Then the next team plays his shot.

The Games master will assign time, rink and teams concerned for the penalty shot.

10.   Mobiles

In the rink area, all mobiles are shut off!

11.   Drinks, Food, broom bags, garbage etc.

After each game, every team should clear the area behind the rink and take all their belongings with them.

12.   Alcoholic beverages

We want to make clear to all participants that Swiss law does not allow minors under the age of 16 to purchase or drink alcoholic beverages in general and purchase or drink high percentage beverages under the age of 18.

We at CRB fully backup the campaign of the SWISSCURLING ASSOCIATION for a non alcoholic drug- and nicotine free junior curling experience. Therefore the consumption of alcoholic beverages during the bonspiel is not allowed inside of the CRB premises and surroundings including the dormitories except for the public restaurant for people who are able to identify themselves of age with identification cards.
